This project focuses on the critical importance of early intervention in combating dementia, a global health challenge that affects millions of individuals worldwide. Dementia’s debilitating progression erodes memory and cognitive abilities, imposing significant emotional and financial burdens on individuals, families, and healthcare systems.

Through a data-driven visualization, this project highlights recent breakthroughs in plasma proteomic research that can predict dementia onset years before symptoms appear. By studying biomarkers such as GDF15, GFAP, and NEFL, the visualization demonstrates their dynamic changes over time and their correlation with different dementia types, including Alzheimer’s disease (AD), All-Cause Dementia (ACD), and Vascular Dementia (VaD).

Designing this poster was a significant challenge for me, as I lacked relevant skills and knowledge of graphic design. I spent almost a month selecting appropriate visual elements and glyphs—a process that was both tough and painstaking. However, this project has been a transformative experience. I’ve come to appreciate how data can be used to tell compelling stories, amplifying its impact and making it even more powerful.
